14 EASY Things You Can Do Daily To Increase Your Success
“Whenever you see a successful person, you only see the public glories, never the private sacrifices to reach them.” – Vaibhav Shah
An interviewer, Kevin Kruse, recently spoke to over 200 very successful people. He asked one simple open-ended question: “What is your number one secret to productivity?” Here are a list of their responses:
#14 - Focus On One Thing At A Time
Every morning, focus on the task that will most impact your goals that day. Work on this task without interruptions.
#13 - Anticipate How You Will Fight Self-Sabotage
A nemesis of everyone, determine how you prevent this ahead of time.
#12 - All You Need Is A Simple Notebook
Both Richard Branson and Aristotle Onassis both advocated carrying notebooks wherever they went. Very successful people “free” their minds by writing everything down as they think of it.
#11 - Meetings Are Time-Killers
Mark Cuban, Shark Tank star, stated that he never goes to meetings unless “someone is writing a check.” When you have to run a meeting, keep it short and on the topic.
#10 - Delegation Is Key
These people don’t have control issues. They decide how best to get the task done and take the “I” out of the equation as much as possible.
#9-Mornings Are Consistent
Every one of the people that interviewed had a morning ritual. These varied, but often included drinking water, a healthy breakfast, and a light exercise routine. To prepare their minds, they started their day with prayer or meditation, reading or journaling.
#8-Their Days Are Measured By Minutes, Not Hours.
Successful people know there are 1,440 minutes in a day. You can never regain lost minutes.
#7 - No To-Do Lists
This idea may come as a surprise to many. Instead of writing out lists, schedule everything on your calendar. People are notorious for not completing their agendas, leading to insomnia and stress. Highly productive people work and live by their calendar.
#6 - They Are Home For Dinner
There is always something to be done. But, life must be valued as well. That includes giving back, exercise and family time.
#5 - Don’t Constantly Check Your “Emails.”
Very productive people know to look at their emails only a few times a day. Constantly switching back and forth burns up valuable minutes.
#4 - Value Your Minutes
Billionaire, Warren Buffet, commented, “The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say ‘no’ to almost everything.” Time is money!
#3. The 80/20 Rule
The Pareto Principle states that 80% of results come from only 20% of activity. Decide what activities will get the greatest results and focus on those.
#2. They Touch Things Only Once
Whether it’s a bill or an email, deal with it at that time. Don’t put it on the proverbial pile to deal with it later.
#1-Energy Is Everything
To get the most out of every day, increase your energy level. Take the time to eat well, exercise, and recharge. Your productivity will increase.
